Teaser Tuesday and A Cry for Help and Understanding

Teaser Tuesday and A Cry for Help and Understanding

Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone! I hope y’all had a terrific Tuesday! I’m going to do the teaser first and then get to all that crying and help and understanding or whatever after!

And there it, is against all hope, like the sun peeking out from behind the clouds. The smallest hint of a smile.” These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

There you go! Wasn’t that just magical?

So do I Harry, so do I. Anyways, onto that cry for help and under standing. Let’s start with the understanding part. Some of you may have seen my post on Facebook announcing this but here it is again. I am so busy this month I barely have time for basic necessities like eating my dinner, sleeping and passing 9th grade. So my posts might start happening even less this month. I will try my best but I have a lot on my plate, so, sadly, surviving has to take top priority. I apologize and thank y’all for, hopefully, understanding! Next on the agenda is crying for help!
I want and may even need help. So, I am reaching out/crying out to you, my dear readers, for help. Here is a little background so y’all know what’s going on. I am an aunt! It is amazing and I love every second of it. I also love reading if you haven’t figured that out yet. So naturally books are super important to me and I want to encourage my littlies to read and love reading. I am planning on building a chest and painting it all cool (to the best of my practically nonexistent artistic ability) and filling it with books that I thought were really important and impactful that they should read as they grow up as well as little notes on what age group they would be most appropriate for and when in life these stories might be helpful or why I found them so amazing. I have some ideas but I really would like some more to span a wider range. So I am asking you guys for ideas and suggestions. Comment below or on Facebook or e-mail me at readerwritercritic.blog@gmail.com or call to me telepathically with recommendations and why you think they’d be good ones to throw in, and maybe the age group in case I haven’t read it so that their parents can make sure they don’t read totally inappropriate books at certain ages. I’d really appreciate it and love to hear from you! Thank you for the help and I don’t really have a dead line, because I hope to continue recommending and giving to them throughout the years!
(Some are based solely on the strong messages or lessons I feel that they will teach others are just because they are fun!)
In case you were wondering, here is what I am planning on so far:
Song of the Lioness Series by Tamora Pierce
The Tapestry Series by Henry H. Neff
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Fire and Thorns Series by Rae Carson
The Finisher by David Baldacci

  1. That sounds like a cute idea! What kind of age range are you looking for? I was going to say Dr. Seuss, buuut, is that too young, then? Congrats on being an Aunt! Woot! I'm an aunt 3 times which is soooo cool. I get to spoil the little ones and then hand them back to their parents when they scream. AWESOME. Some kind of “classic” books I recommend would probably be Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Rangers Apprentice, and Inkheart, oh and Harry Potter and Gallagher Girls. And I just finished reading Because of Winn-Dixie, and I loved that. 🙂

  2. Thanks! Um the youngest one is yet to be born and the oldest will turn 2 in may so a wide range or pretty much anything is good! Thanks for all the ideas. I love all of the ones you mentioned but I don't think I've ever read Because of Winn-Dixie, Apprentice, or Gallagher Girls. 🙂
